This images were shot at a local charity event, a friend of mine, Juliet Platts held a fashion show and clothes sale in order to raise money for the disaster struck country of Hati. All clothes featured in the show were second hand or donated, and all models were volunteers from the local area. The show was held at Falmouth Beach hotel on Thursday 19th March. I feel with these image's, there is very little to talk about, they have not been set up, and they do not display an idea or message. I have tried to use conventional 'runway' techniques, by shooting from below the model on the floor at the end of the runway. I used a fast shutter speed of around 200/1 to allow me to get the model in focus and as sharp as possible.
I dislike the blue tone in the image above, however as these have not been post-produced I havent changed this. I like the power in the models face, and in her walk, she's walking with purpose and looks like a sucessful and professional runway model
Much like the image below, this gives the appearence of added height. The model clearly displays all of the items available for purchase, something they'd be expected to do.
I like the lines in this image, from shooting from below it has given the illusion of the model being much taller. Her taliored trousers add length to her slim legs, this works well to sell the clothes, as well as working with the stero-typical appearence of runway models.
My photographs are much like Peter Stigter's, a photographer of whom has shot events such as Milan, Paris and Newyork fashion weeks. Below are some of his images, they feature many similarities as mine, these include the position of the model in the frame, the image shot in motion, aswell as both featuring the audience, and catwalk in the background, whilst the model is in focus, in the foreground.
